Project Purpose

The UDC Water Resources Dashboard is a data integration and visualization platform created to support teaching, learning, research, and public service within the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). It is designed to benefit:

  • UDC CAUSES / WRRI faculty, staff, and students
  • Researchers and environmental professionals
  • District of Columbia government agencies
  • The general public seeking accessible Anacostia River water-resource information

Project Origin & Funding

This project was proposed and academically guided by Dr. Tolessa Deksissa, Faculty Head of the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) at the University of the District of Columbia.

This initiative is funded by the District of Columbia Government as part of its commitment to environmental data accessibility and water-resource resilience.

Design & Development

Although the project was proposed by UDC WRRI and funded by the DC Government, the full design, engineering, and implementation of the platform were carried out by:

Olink Technologies Inc

Software Engineering & Architecture

DAPS Analytics

Data Analytics & Visualization

These organizations collaborated closely with Dr. Tolessa Deksissa and the UDC WRRI team to ensure the platform meets academic, research, and public-service needs.

Disclaimer

This dashboard is a collaborative project. While UDC WRRI provides scientific guidance and project direction, the software, architecture, and technical development are the intellectual work of Olink Technologies Inc and DAPS Analytics.

The platform is provided for educational, research, and public informational purposes. It should not be used as the sole basis for legal, regulatory, or emergency decision-making.

Data is sourced from public federal APIs (USGS NWIS, EPA Water Quality Portal) and local DC government datasets. While we strive for accuracy, sensor data may contain gaps, calibration offsets, or transmission errors inherent to field instrumentation.
